about

This was taken from our final performance of 230503 at the dark and dingy much-missed Excelsior in Surrey Hills, NSW in August 2010. This show was particularly good and would have been a contender for a live release on its own but there were a lot of technical issues that rendered the multitracks for the vocals and some of the instruments completely unusable.

This is a very typically chaotic and noisy rendition - the band improvised the ending and it always varied from night to night. In those days we were pretty aggressive and had a tendency to play a much faster and edgier set than we might today (Sydney crowds demanded it) so even the gentler songs ended up having an edge (and were much faster on stage). Certainly a performance of it’s time - a young and much more rough and ready band.

lyrics

When I'm gone, release me
Let me go
I have many things to see and do

I don't think you've noticed
I don't want to be found
